Glasses

Tonight I stole my mom's new reading glasses off her when she was on the phone with kousin Layla's mom. Hehe. They are brand new. She just got them this afternoon. I was sitting on her lap when I noticed the glasses on her shirt where people her age put them when they are not reading so they'll be out of the way but still handy. I grabbed them quick, jumped off her lap, and ran up the steps to the kitchen. By the time she excused herself from the conversation, put the phone down, got out of the recliner, and over to the steps, I was waiting for her on the top step with the glasses in my mouth and my tail wagging. I looked so cute that she could not yell at me. Instead, she reached for her little camera that is always supposed to be nearby but wasn't, and I took off. So she missed a great photo op. She found me in the sun room by the patio door. She then took this rather mundane photo of me with her glasses. If you look closely, you can see the one earpiece on the right. By now I figured that she was frustrated enough, so I gave her the glasses back without a fight, since I also earlier took both her socks off her. (I know when to back off.) Layla, on the other end of the phone, thought this was all pretty funny.

See what happens when you are grounded for so long and get bored. Luckily, I didn't chew her glasses so she wasn't real mad. I think I'll be able to go to Penn State's game this weekend. Thanksgiving is coming and I don't want to be in trouble then. Soon after that Santa will be showing up, so I have to behave myself for that. YIKES!! Then ski season. Oh boy.

I'M SORRY!!!!!

Oh, that's sooo cute Koobie! I wouldn't dare do that coz my mommy would be very angry. I hope you didn't break the lens or anything. I'm sure you didn't. Who's that cute doggy? He/She's got nice fur...

Hey Sweetie...you're still grounded?? Honey, I hate to tell ya, but the way to get back into ur mom's good graces is NOT by stealin' her glasses. I, myself, have NEVER stolen a pair of glasses. But the checkbook last week I snitched off the kitchen table was DEEELIISH. I swallowed a large chunk of the paper part(so now daddy can't read what mumsie spent...she gave me rawhide for that!) and exercised my fangs on the plastic part. Yep...then I hid it under the sofa.
So Michigan State at 3:30 Saturday? There's probably gonna be a very small poker pawty here Friday nite...with ur car gone, I'm wondering if Patience's whippets might be able to run us up there??? Lacie's not here and who knows where Seymour is...I'll get back to you, my Sweet!!!

Wiry love, Scruffy

Nice one, Koobuss. Extra marks for the second running off phase, too.

I like to remove Mum's glasses off her face - just slip a lower canine under the arm and flip. Hey presto, blind as a bat mummy. Of course, I pretend I want to give her a kiss them slime the lenses up all the time!

Enjoy

Tanner LOVES glasses. He chewed up a couple pair of my Grams's reading glasses! It is definitely the time of year where we have to be good or the fat man will give us coal instead of treats and toys!

Oh, that sounds like what I used to do in the home where I lived before here. I used to grab the remote control from my first mother and go hide it, while she went searching. sometimes, we would race each other to the remote, I would let her win when she threw a treat my way, just to get there before I did..... Oh memories! Here where I live with my mother and sisters, the remote is not within my grasp. But, it is getting close to the fat man holiday. Better halfway mind your manners, or you may not get anything! (I know it is very hard for me to remember that!!)

Koobie,

Dewey Dewster here..
Good girl getting those glasses from your Mom. Shoulda run faster, though. I ripped a piece of the material off the livingroom sofa today trying to get a ball out from under it. Gram was really mad about that. Seems like those balls keep getting away from me and I can't stand for them to stay hidden. Gotta get em, no matter what! Are ya still grounded? I can't seem to find Lacie anywhere. Ya wanna tango?

Hugs and kisses,
Dewey Dewster

Koobuss,

Mothers have such trying days anymore. It is not nice to take glasses from hoomans that really need them. It is a good thing you did not damage them as I would not be likely to spend any more of my millions to bail you out of trouble again. I would, however, spend a good deal to get Dewey out of here for another week. It's worth a lot of $$$$$ if you help me out here. Naw, never mind, you would only want to eat it anyway.

Try to be good for a few days,
Asta Marie

There is a picture of the whippet wagon on our blog, and if it looks comfy enough for you, just pop a comment under it and you'll be traveling whippet speed!

Koobie!

No need for the photo. I can totally imagine you looking all cute and impish with your mama's glasses in your mouth. It must have been a very cute sight for her to stay so calm. (I bet you get away with lots of stuff).

Being cute has its advantages.

Goober love,
Stanley

I'm glad you gave the glasses back unscathed. My friend Rocky (a Labrador) ate his Dad's dentures once. They didn't know where the dentures went for a little while, then...oh well, they can laugh about it now, but at the time it wasn't funny!
