The Big Changeover

Hi Everybody,

February 17 was supposed to be one of the biggest days in our history. It was originally scheduled to be the day of the Big Changeover. I am not talking about Inauguration Day, although that was a big changeover, but that changeover is over.

This new changeover is so big that they have extended it all the way to June 12! Now any changeover that changes over four months has got to be big! Life will never be the same again. The changeover will be everywhere. In our living rooms, kitchens, family rooms, bedrooms, waiting rooms, bathrooms (bathrooms?), and whatever other rooms there are. Say “Good Bye” to life as we know it, my friends, for after June 12, the entire nation, all of us everywhere inside our borders, will now have changed over. From that time forward, we will ALL be digital! WOW!!

See ya, analog!!!

Now what does all this really mean? I’m not sure. I know that I already have some of my own digits that I came with. You know, the usual standard equipment of four legs, some toes on each, and a cute little tail with a white tip. So, I guess that I’m already digital. As for my family, they are analog. Even though they have some of their own digits, my mom and grandpa aren’t really digital. They are too old. Digital is a new thing. And besides, they are not nearly as cute as me, so they can’t be digital. They have to be analog. Everybody who is analog has between now and June 12 to become digital.

So, how do you become digital? First you will have to get a converter box. They sell converter boxes in stores. If you are lucky, you have a $40.00 coupon from the government to help you pay for your new converter box. Once you have your converter box, you have to go on a diet so that you look more like a digit and less like a log. Then when you connect your converter box, all the snow will go away and it will be warm. Probably because by then it’s June and the big change over will be over.

So there you have it. That’s what’s going to happen.

Love and Koobuss Kisses
Koobie

Hey, Koobie Girl!

I'm catching up on the last 3 posts! You are one informative pupgirl (and bootiful to boot)!

Glad to hear you like your raw food. I absolutely LOVE mine, and you've actually heard Stella's resounding reviews from a couple of her past meals. It sounds like you're not yet believing that this may become a daily thing and not just a special treat.

I hope that whatever you end up doing for your raw regime, it makes you healthy and strong so your sassy personality and sweet temper come out!

Goober love & smooches,
Stanley

My Grandpa is firmly analog (I'm surprised his phone has buttons instead of a dial). I don't know if he will survive the big changeover or not. Here at the estate, we are not only digital, but about to go HD (holy, high tech).

Mango

We are almost all-digital but the humans have one analog TV that can't be fitted with a digital converter - just won't work - so the huMAN has put in a request for a new TV for that one location.

Thanks for the digital/analog update.

We're confused. Jan has had the converter box for months, but when some of the local stations changed to digital on the 17th, she tried to set it up. What a hoot! She now has bought an amplified antenna to hook to the converter box to hook to the tv because the antenna on the pole broke several years ago. She's been using an OLD amplifier to pick up a few stations from here and there. Not well, but ... Anyway, she is grumbling about all these stations going digital at different times. One changed the 17th, another the 18th and another will in early March, etc.

Guess the answer is that we're analog trying to become digital and wondering how we're going to watch tv that's part analog, part digital.

Oh, now we have a headache from trying to figure this out. Ouch.

We're already set up for digital; we've got cable so they have us taken care of. Mom's a Luddite at heart and is being dragged into digital and HD kicking and screaming but she really likes it(shh don't tell anyone).

Her friend in South Dakota had to get a box and still only gets about 7 TV stations anyway. She would do satellite but it's expensive for her. Must be those Black Hills nearby that block the reception, I don't know!

Love,
Rudy

i was hoping it would be the 21st so we don't have to see any more of the damn commercials about it!

and it cost us an extra 100 bucks to buy an antennae to put in our attic so we can continue watching our local stations (we don't have dish or cable) ....yeah, 100 bucks for all 3 (total) channels...it's a pain...

Hi Koobus! I found your blog through Mango's and thought I'd stop over and say hi. You sure are cute! We have a digital television and DirecTV, so we're okay as long as we want to keep paying for DirecTV. Otherwise, I think we'd need an antenna but I'm not sure what else.

See ya!
