Confusion

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss.

It finally stopped raining here after three straight days and nights.  This is the first that I've been able to get out on my deck in a while.  Some strange things have been happening.  I know it's October and that I can expect almost anything, including being surrounded by all these yucky brown leaves and other stuff, but still.  It's kinda early.  Isn't it?

Yikes!!  That can't be right.  It doesn't feel like 100 degrees.  Sometimes I think our thermometer is either confused, or on steroids.

This guy is back.  He was here two weeks ago working on a project.  He is a very slow worker.  Sometimes he stays in the same spot for days.  I think that he gets stuck.  Here is a photo of him from the other direction.

See what I mean?  Looks trapped to me!  He must be confused.

Now this nincompoop is enjoying himself bobbing up and down basking in the sun.  If he does this for too long he may end up baked.  A baked pumpkin!  Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! Serves him right.  There must be something wrong with him.  He keeps smiling all the time.  He's confused, too.

And the geraniums are still in bloom.  My mom's going to keep them until they are all dead.  She won't put fall flowers out until the summer ones are totally finished.  It doesn't matter that everyone else has fall flowers in their yards and on their decks.  We still have summer flowers.  Talk about confusion.

Humph.

Now what?  It's only 68 degrees, and not 100?  You mean the temperature dropped 32 degrees in only an hour?  I think the sun may have had something to do with this.  I heard once that the sun actually moves.  Can you believe that?  Now I'm really confused.  I thought it was the earth that moved.  Oh well...  Maybe they both move.

Oh, no!!  Look at this, would ya!  It seems my mom has run out of things to photograph.  Now she's taking pictures of her reflection in the glass sliding door.  How sad.  

Talk about confusion...  I think we need major help.

Daylight Savings Time

Hello Friends,

I’m confused again. Humans really baffle me.

Tonight my mom is going around the house changing all the clocks. For some reason, she is pushing them all ahead an hour. She says that everyone is doing this and that tomorrow we will all have more daylight. Now, I am not a math person (fer sure), but how can we have more daylight by pushing the clocks ahead? Isn’t there only so much daylight? And, months from now, when we turn the clocks back, do we do it because then we want more darkness?

My whole routine will now be messed up for awhile because of this. Normally, I sleep until around 11:00, sometimes later. I go for my walk around noon. When I get home from my walk, I sit on Grandpa’s lap and give him Koobuss kisses. Then I take an afternoon nap and between 5 and 6 PM I have my supper. (I really like being a dog.)

After supper I patrol the front yard and bark at the neighbors, especially any cats, squirrels, bunnies, dogs, kids, bikes, etc. that wander past my territory. I have to protect my space, you know. Now I suppose that all this will happen an hour early, or is it later? I hope I’m not too sleepy to take my walk.

We dogs don’t need to have our clocks changed. We always know what time it is. We know when it’s time to eat and when it’s time to sleep. We know when it’s time to go for a walk and when it’s time to play. We know when it’s time for our people to leave for wherever it is that they go and when it’s time for them to return. We know when our people need kisses and when they need to laugh or cry. And we know all this without even wearing a wristwatch!

Why do humans make everything so complicated? Scheesh…..

Confusion

Will someone please explain to me what season it is? Is it spring or is it fall? Am I coming or going? I wish I knew.

Confusion

Hi Everybody,

As you can see, I am not a very happy camper right now. I have some complaints about my secretary, aka Mom. Here is the problem. Actually, there are several "problems".

1. She didn't sign me up for DWBs Christmas card exchanges, or whatever it's called. She seemed to have no clue about it.
2. She didn't send in any of my adorable photos for the DWB calendar. She didn't know about that either. Clueless again. Duh!
3. She spilled almost a full glass of a cold beverage onto the keyboard of her year-old MacBookPro 17" laptop. She wants to cry. (Now she is using a little laptop for emergencies. This is an emergency.)
4. Three times she had to take down different sets of outside Christmas decorations (front banisters, red front bench, and back deck icicle lights) and put them back up again because they either burned out or she put them up wrong. She would not have so much work to do if she didn't do everything twice!
5. She didn't take me for my walk today. I don't care that it was snowing quite hard and that there was a layer of ice under the snow.
I love snow!! It is so much fun, and when it's slippery, it's even better!!

I'll have to tell all of this to Santa. Which reminds me. We didn't write my letter to Santa yet!! YIKES!!!

Please help me!!! What is wrong with her?? As they say, "Good help is hard to find."
