Psst...

"Psst...Hey, we need to talk."
"Did you know that Tia doesn't chase bunnies?"

"Who me?  Chase bunnies?  What's a bunny?  No habla bunnies."

"See what I mean?  She doesn't even know what a bunny is!  We'll have to teach her how to be a ferocious dog."

"But then again, what do you know?  You haven't said a word.   You are totally useless."

New Concerns

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss.

I have a lot on my mind lately.  There have been some things going on around here that concern me.  Last week I showed you some invaders that have reappeared recently.  Here they are again to refresh your memory.

If you remember, they promised that there would be more of them to follow.  And, they were right.  There are more of them, and there are some strange goings on here lately.

For example,  now look at this one.  She seems harmless and cute enough, but if you look closer, you can see that she is stealing my toys.  She already has my pink bone, one of my zhabas (frogs), and my purse.  Imagine that!  She even took my purse.  What nerve!

You never take another girl's purse.  That's just not right.

Not only this.  It's bad outside, too.  There is a whole army out on my deck, just waiting for me to let my guard down.

These guys are especially dangerous.  I see what they do to the birds and how much the birds respect them.  They have already taken over next door.  Well, yesterday on my walk, I gave them a warning.  I told them that they had better stay right where they are because if they come over to my yard, they will have to deal with me.

Just to cover all my bases (I learned that term watching the Yankees), I decided to enlist the help of my new neighbor, Tia.  Now,  I can handle all this trouble myself, mind you, but I thought I'd be a friend and include her in my mission to keep the neighborhood safe.  Besides, she doesn't like all these invaders either and she is much too small to fight them off herself.

Tia takes her work very seriously.  Here she is on guard duty.

She is very thorough, looking everywhere, while being cautious.

I think that I can relax now.  The neighborhood is safe once again, with me and Tia on the job.

Progress Report

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobie, reporting on my new little neighbor, Tia.  I still haven't met her in person (er dog?) yet, but I have been watching her from my front yard.  So, let's see what the new kid on the block has been up to.  (You may need to bigify the photos.)

Today Tia went for a walk.  Sort of.

She didn't get very far, just to the end of the driveway, when she met her first boy dog.  He didn't seem too anxious to meet her.  In fact, he had to be dragged into it.

(I don't think that these two are going to hit it off.)

They get acquainted...

Then, noticing how cute Tia is, he starts to get interested.

She says, "No way, Jose".  (I'm not sure if that's his name on not, but it sounds good, and she would say that because she is a chihuahua, after all.)

Then she did what any self-respecting, young pup would do.  She went right to her mom.  Smart girl!  Hehe...

This should get more interesting.  I'll have to keep you posted.  Luckily for me, I have a great view from my observation point right here in my front yard.

It's not that I'm nosey or anything, but you know, all this is unfolding right in front of my eyes.  What's a girl to do?  I just have to watch it.  Besides, if I didn't, what kind of "watch dog" would I be?  HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!  That's a good one!!!

Newcomer

Hello Everybody!

I'm new here.  My name is Tia, and I am a three-month-old long-haired chihuahua.  Last night I moved into Poco's old house across the street from Koobie.  (You remember Poco.  He died last May.)

Anyway, here I am.   Right across the street from Koobie.

Speaking of Koobie, where is she?

Oh, she's outside!  She can't come in the house as long as I'm here.  HAHAHAHAHA!!!  I'm going to like this neighborhood.
