The Summer So Far
Hi Everybody,
It's me, Koobie.
Today is the middle day of the middle month of the summer. Those of us in this part of the country are still waiting for the summer to start. So far this "summer" we had rain on 31 of the 39 days from Memorial Day to July 3. When it hasn't rained, the temperatures have been more like Spring or Fall. Our average high for now is 83 degrees. Yesterday's high was 77. The day before was 79. I don't think we reached 80 degrees more than three times all season and we haven't even hit 85 yet once! (Unless you count those days in the nineties back in April.) Nights have been in the low 50s, and in some higher elevations, the 40s! Global warming!! HA!!! I think that we're having global cooling! There actually is such a thing.
Now, some might say, "Koobie, what are you complaining about? Seventies and low humidity days are beautiful anytime, especially in July!" My answer is, "Yeah!! I think it's great! It sure works for me." But, for some reason, many humans are not happy. They seem to want high temperatures with lots of humidity. Then, when they get them, they'll complain and long for the days of seventies and low humidity. Go figure. I find humans to be rather strange at times.
Overall, I'd have to give this summer a "C" at the halfway point. While the temperatures are nice, the 31 days of rain between Memorial Day and the Fourth of July really put a damper on things. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
That is my report on the first half of Summer 2009 in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

70's with low humidity is great weather. That is one nice looking lake.
We are not complaining. We like the nice cool evenings especially.

no no no don't tell me summer is half over! lol
we never have humidity issues, and I'm glad! Been cooler here, too.
Hope you are doing well, koobs!
We have been having beautifully cool temps too, Koobie, and it's been wonderful - no complaints here but today is supposed to be up near 90 with lots of humidity! YUK!
Please bring back the coolness!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
It's too hot here! It's over a hundred degrees!
Smoochies,
Solid Gold Momma
I think we'd give our summer an A since it quit raining so much in May. Lately it's been clear, sunny, not too hot, except for the last couple of days not too humid either. Yesterday though it got up to 97 degrees! Today we got our first little rain in weeks. Yeah, we could use some more but not 31 of 39 days!
Love
Rudy
