Mango Minster 2012 Entry

Hi Everybody,

It's me, Koobuss.

This year my mom decided to enter me in Mango's Mango Minster 2012 Competition. She looked over the several categories, trying to find one that applied to me. That wasn't easy.

For instance, I am not a working dog. I don't have a job and have no intention of ever getting a job. My position of Chief of Security here is merely a figurehead. I try to do as little as possible. So, I can't enter the Working Stiffs category. And there is no category for couch potatoes.

There is very little adventure in my life, and I like it that way. Unless you count sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. I'm good at that, but I don't qualify for the Adventure Animal category.

I'm not much of a Cracker Dog either. Me, I prefer Bully Sticks, myself. They are almost as dry as crackers, and I like their elongated shape. The coating is pretty good, too.

This is serious business.

I always know where my bully stick is.

Now for the Bad Sports group. I can get a little grumpy sometimes, for reasons only known to me. But I always get over it quick, so I'm not really a bad sport.

So, friends, there is only one category left. I'm just "Too Darn Cute". So, that is where I will compete.

She Did It Again

Hi friends,

It's me, Koobuss.

Yesterday my mom was playing with her camera again. She does that a lot. It has something to do with all manual settings. She's trying to relearn something she already knew thirty-plus years ago. Anyway, since we had a little bit of snow on everything, she set her camera at a small aperture and a real fast shutter speed to take pictures of the snow on the deck. I was standing alongside her watching intently when she noticed that I was looking up at her. Since I looked adorable, as always, she hurriedly pointed the camera in my direction and snapped before I could move. (I try not to let her get too many photos of my face. I'm shy like that.) Anyway, she didn't change her settings back to indoor picture taking, so this is the picture that she got.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, as luck would have it, the puter saved the day, somewhat. She did something called PP (post processing) in Apple's Aperture 3.0, and she was able to come up with this. So, she saved the photo, at least a little bit. It's not great, but it's still better than nothing, so I hear. If you bigify it, you will see just how awful it really is.

Now you know why I don't pose for her. Sheesh....

True Colors Thursday -- Green

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss.

Today is True Colors Thursday and this week's color is green. After going through my mom's recent photos, (October, November, and December 2011) I found a few with some green. So, here goes. I hope that you like them.

This is the green on our local high school's football field. They tell me it's an artificial surface. I never heard of artificial grass. What will they think of next? Amazing...

Here is the green from my mom's favorite pro football team. (I'm just glad it's not Eagles green, if you know what I mean.)

And, this is some of our Christmas decorations.

That's all for now. I know I'll find a lot more green after Green Day is over and some other color is being featured. Sigh...

New Winter Hat

Hi Everybody,

The other day I was playing with some of my friends and they told me that it's almost winter. They said that I had to get ready for the cold. These guys know all about that. As you can see, they are fully prepared for the cold. Just look. One has earmuffs on and the other has a warm hat and scarf.

Since they know all about winter, I thought that I better take their advice. So, I went shopping and found the perfect winter garment for me. Now I'm all set for whatever the winter weather brings my way.

What I Did Today

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss. This is what happened today.

Gwandpa and I went for a ride this afternoon and my mom did some shopping. Here we are at our first stop, the drug store. Mom went inside while Gwandpa and I waited in the car. They have a dog in the drugstore. Her name is Harley. When I go in the drugstore me and Harley start running around up and down the aisles. Harley wags her tail and knocks stuff off the bottom shelves. All the customers laugh. Harley's father, who is the pharmacist, and my mom have a fit. Now I have to wait in the car whenever we stop at the drugstore.

When we finally left the drugstore we drove down the mountain. We stopped at Target and Best Buy and then we ended up here. This is one of my favorite places. This is one of the goody stores. They sell dindin here and lots of tweats. I don't mind waiting in the car here because I know that Mom's going to get lots of good stuff and we will have fun when we get home. : )

WOW!! Look what we saw on our way home! Wonder what all that smoke is from. Humph.

Maybe somebody left their bully sticks on the grill too long.

I couldn't look anymore to see what all the smoke was from because I had to watch the road. That's a very important job, you know. The assistant driver has to bee alert at all times.

Do Not Disturb

Hi Friends!

Today I found this "visitor"sleeping in our red maple tree by our deck. It was a perfect sunny day for a nap. We had almost a foot of snow on the ground, so this was the best spot to catch some ZZZZs.

Looks like I'll have to bark louder to wake this critter up.

Cute little bugger.

But I still don't like him and I wish he'd sleep elsewhere.

I'll tell ya, if it's not one thing it's another. We got a foot of snow yesterday, way too early, and today we have a sleeping squirrel. What's next? An earthquake? Oh, we already had that. Sheesh...

The Day After International Ice Cream Day

Yesterday was one of the best days of the year. It was International Ice Cream Day! Around here though it just came and went.

Ice cream is one of my mom's very favorite things in the whole wide world. Recently she developed an allergy to milk and now she can't have any. We don't even have ice cream in the house anymore. Cry, cry.

We didn't put up our ice cream flag this summer.

And we didn't even get in this line the other day.

Grandpa and I are suffering, too. But at least International Ice Cream Day is over for another year.

A New Trick

It's me, Koobuss.

Have I got a story for you! Hehe...

Now listen carefully, because there may be some techniques here that you can use when the occasion presents itself....

Last night I decided to go to bed early so I came downstairs here to my cool little hideaway and took a nap directly underneath the ceiling fan. I was really zonked after my usual busy day of chewing bully sticks and barking at the neighbor's cat. The heat really wears me out too since I am basically a northern dog with a thick fur coat. Anyway, I was thoroughly enjoying my snooze and before you knew it, it was past midnight and everybody had gone to bed! They didn't even wake me up for my 10:00 PM treat!! I was hungry and really ticked off.

After I finished my leftover dog food from supper, I still wanted my treat, so I went upstairs to my mom's bedroom and barked real loud right in her ear! HAHAHA!! She woke up immediately, I continued to bark at her, she grabbed her housecoat, I ran downstairs, she ran after me, and then I stopped and stood by the cabinet in the kitchen where my treats are kept. My mom, seeing nothing serious was wrong, laughed and gave me my treat. I even got some extras. : ) She let me outside and then she came and sat with me on the deck for a little while. Around 1:30 we came in the house, and we both went to bed happy, she upstairs to her bedroom, and I downstairs to my cool spot underneath the ceiling fan.

That's my story. I bet tonight they don't forget to give me my 10 PM snack. HEHEHE...

I'm Baaaaaack... (Finally)

Hi Everybody,

It's me, Koobuss.

It's been a long time since my last post and some of my friends were wondering about me. Jan's Funny Farm even asked me the other day if I thawed out yet. Well, yes, everybody at Jan's, I have thawed out.

A lot has happened during my absence, and much of it wasn't good. Many of us had issues, and we lost our dear friends Joe Stains and Butchy. That is so sad. I really hate it when stuff like that happens. Grandpa, Mom, and I send our deepest sympathies and condolences to Joey and Butchy's families. It is so hard to lose a friend. We know.

As for us, to use a baseball term, we have been on the "disabled list". In late April my mom got very sick, landed in the hospital, and needed emergency surgery. A couple weeks after she got home from the hospital she fell and almost fractured her skull. Then she had some chicken cartilage injections in her arthritic right knee so she can take me for a walk. (Cluck, cluck...) Meanwhile, I hurt my footie on some loose stones on our front steps. That required two visits to the vettie, X-rays, and blood work for me. All the tests were negative. : ) After two refills of doggie pain meds I'm doing much better, but sometimes I still limp a little, especially when I first start to walk (where's that chicken?) but my mom and I are now able to do our half-mile walks every day once again. : )

At least Grandpa's okay and that makes me very happy. : )

Last week we got new front steps so I won't hurt my footie on loose stones anymore. Yea!!! Things are starting to look up. : )

And I can finally blog again!

Whining Again

I really hate to be a whiner, well not really, but this weather sure has me upset.

You see my last post from a few weeks ago? That could be this post, too. Things haven't changed much at all. SHUCKS!! The calendar says that spring started a week ago. Well, this is what spring looks like for now in NEPA (Northeast PA). Here are a few of my most recent photos.

I am so depressed. It's only 29 degrees now. It's too cold to even sit on the deck in the sun. So, I'll just have to take another nap. (The only good things to come out of all this is that I am well rested and I have been able to avoid getting a bath for a while now. For every minus there is a plus. Hehehe...)

Setback

Hi Friends,

It' me, Koobuss.

I've been eagerly waiting for spring, just like everybody else around here, and for a while, I thought it was close. Why, I even spent some quality deck time out in the sun already just chillin'.

It was so nice to see and smell the grass again. All our snow had finally melted. We had geese flying overhead and robins appearing. The temperatures were getting warmer and life was good. Then yesterday and last night those of us who are eagerly awaiting spring suffered a major setback! We had a BLIZZARD!!! A real blizzard, with heavy winds, power outages, rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, ice, 35-mph winds, cold temperatures, and all this new snow. This is more snow than we had all winter! I am not a happy camper, and neither is anybody else I know. SHUCKS!!! BIG TIME!!!!

Guess I'll just go back to sleep. Looks like hybernating season isn't over yet.

Hi Everybody,

It's me, Koobus. Remember me? I know it's been a while. Just in case you don't recognize me, this is what I used to look like just a couple days ago.

Yesterday my mom tried to give me a whole body make-over. After spending two hours on me,

I jumped off the table and ran away before she could finish my ears and the right side of my face.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wasn't that great!!!

How do you like my profile?

I don't mind having a scruffy snout and ears. But I have a feeling that my mom is going to grab me when I least suspect it and march me back down the cellar to finish the job. This will probably occur before Santa comes.

Maybe if I give Grandpaw enough Koobuss Kisses he will save me from the scissors.

Hi Everybody!

It's me, Koobuss.

I know that I haven't been around much lately. That's because I have been busy.

Grandpaw's still not home. He was in the hospital for almost a week and now he is in a nursing home for over a week for therapy. I don't know when he'll he home and I miss him. But at least my mom takes me to see him at the nursing home every day. I have made a lot of new friends there, most of them are in wheelchairs. They are always happy to see me. They talk to me and pet me and I smile and give them lots of Koobuss Kisses. While I love them all and I am happy to see them all, I still want my grandpaw back home here with me where he belongs. My mom is just not as good as he is holding the bully stick. He is the best bully stick holder there ever was!

Here he is the first day I went to see him in the nursing home.

And, here I am watching for him, and waiting for him to come home.

Meanwhile, my beard keeps growing. What da ya think? Do you like it?

Confusion

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss.

It finally stopped raining here after three straight days and nights. This is the first that I've been able to get out on my deck in a while. Some strange things have been happening. I know it's October and that I can expect almost anything, including being surrounded by all these yucky brown leaves and other stuff, but still. It's kinda early. Isn't it?

Yikes!! That can't be right. It doesn't feel like 100 degrees. Sometimes I think our thermometer is either confused, or on steroids.

This guy is back. He was here two weeks ago working on a project. He is a very slow worker. Sometimes he stays in the same spot for days. I think that he gets stuck. Here is a photo of him from the other direction.

See what I mean? Looks trapped to me! He must be confused.

Now this nincompoop is enjoying himself bobbing up and down basking in the sun. If he does this for too long he may end up baked. A baked pumpkin! Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! Serves him right. There must be something wrong with him. He keeps smiling all the time. He's confused, too.

And the geraniums are still in bloom. My mom's going to keep them until they are all dead. She won't put fall flowers out until the summer ones are totally finished. It doesn't matter that everyone else has fall flowers in their yards and on their decks. We still have summer flowers. Talk about confusion.

Humph.

Now what? It's only 68 degrees, and not 100? You mean the temperature dropped 32 degrees in only an hour? I think the sun may have had something to do with this. I heard once that the sun actually moves. Can you believe that? Now I'm really confused. I thought it was the earth that moved. Oh well... Maybe they both move.

Oh, no!! Look at this, would ya! It seems my mom has run out of things to photograph. Now she's taking pictures of her reflection in the glass sliding door. How sad.

Talk about confusion... I think we need major help.

Not Guilty

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss.

I don't know how I ended up in this predicament. I didn't do it. Honestly!

As you know, a certain individual has been hanging around my deck, sniffing the aromas around my grill, looking for crumbs from my treats, showing off about how cute and quick he is, and generally being a major nuisance to me. (I would use a different phrase to describe how I feel about him, but after all, this is a family blog.)

Anyway, this is him.

Here he is again, ON OUR CHAIR, no less!! He is so brazen.

I have been trying to catch him for a long time, to no avail.

The other day on my walkie, we saw somebody who looked just like him lying dead on the street, two streets behind us. Now, I had nothing to do with this. First of all, we can't be sure that the above mentioned corpse was actually my chipmunk, since all chipmunks look pretty much alike. Secondly, I never go that far by myself (my mom always has me on a leash when I walk), so I was not in the area where the body was found until I went for my walk with my mom. And, finally, do chipmunks even go that far? That would be an awful long walk for him, since they are so small. On the other hand, we have not seen our chippy here for a while, and he could very well be missing, unless he moved to another address.

So, here I sit, confined for a crime that I did not commit.

Wait a minute!! What was that??? There he is!! He's not dead!!

I never thought I'd be so happy to see a rodent. Hehehe...

Hi Everybody,

It's me, Koobuss.

Today is a cool, rainy, dreary day (we need one), and it's good for sleeping. I've been doing a lot of that. But I thought that I'd take a few minutes to update you on what's been happening here between my naps.

First of all, the temperature dropped. That's the good news.

You can see that this is a big improvement over the last picture of the thermometer.

Now here's the bad news. Look who moved in here to give me lots of grief. It's Chucky Chipmunk. He's worse than any of the bunnies. At least they don't come right up on my deck.

Now, I have really tried to catch him.

But I can't. He's so fast, by the time I see him, he's gone! I guess my wire fox terrier chasing skills are not too good. But I'm still trying.

Now, on a lighter note, (ha, ha! That was really funny), last night my mom tried to take a picture of herself with her computer camera. Here it is.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Now that's a great picture!!!

I think I'll continue my nap now.

I'm Back

Hi Everybody,

It's me, Koobuss.

Every once in a while, like many of you, I have trouble with my secretary. It seems that she gets distracted rather easily. Lately she has been taking lots of pictures, traveling here and there, and relaxing in the sun. She's not interested in my problems at all.

For example, my issues with a certain local rabbit have been well documented over the last few months. Well, my friends, it's getting worse. Before I just had one certain bunny bugging me, but now I have two!

This is what was in my front yard this morning, around 9 AM, Eastern Daylight Time. Please bigify to get a better look.

Did you see her? Now she (Bonnie Bunny) thinks she's safe there crunching down and hiding in the grass. But I know all about her and I'm watching.

At the same time that she was enjoying the morning sun, he (Benny Bunny) was hanging out by the lilac bush in the back yard. This is the same guy who has been teasing me for months. As you can see, he's still here.

So, my friends, I am now outnumbered, 2-1, and something is telling me that it's going to get a lot worse. Sheesh...

Meanwhile, my mom has not helped me at all with this rabbit control issue. Well, what has she been doing with herself, you ask. Here is a small sample of her photos from April. Please bigify to see the details.

Congratulations, ABBA!!

Hi Friends.

It's me, Koobie's Mom.

On Monday night, Anni-frid Lyngstad Ruess, Benny Andersen, Bjorn Ulveaus, and Agnetha Faltskog (ABBA) were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, an honor they truly earned. I have been a huge ABBA fan since I first heard "Waterloo" in 1974 and I was ecstatic as I watched them being inducted. While ABBA's melodies are catchy and the harmonies of the women singers are gorgeous, it is the powerful mezzo-sorprano of Anni-frid Lyngstad that is the group's strength, I think. Though years of serious and careful listening (this was long before I got Koobie), I developed a deep admiration and appreciation of Frida's awesome range, soothing tones, and seemingly unlimited vocal talents. And, if you watched the induction ceremony on Monday night you saw that Frida, at age 64, is still quite beautiful and carries herself with dignity and class.

Frida also has a fascinating life story, from her birth as an illegitimate German/Norwegian war baby deep inside the Arctic Circle to the tragic death of her daughter in a automobile accident in New York State.

For a special treat, watch the following video of Anni-frid early in her career, before she joined ABBA. You'll see what I mean.

Let Me Tell You About My Day

It's me, Koobuss. Let me tell you about my day.

It really started yesterday. Well, last night. I'll explain.

Late yesterday afternoon my mom decided to brush me since she didn't get to it on Saturday, my usual brushing day. To make a long story short, (and that's exactly what happened to my fur) she grabbed the scissors to snip a few hairs and before you knew it, most of my hair was either on the floor or the table, but not on me. YIkes!! Her excuse was that since it's getting warmer now, I really didn't need all that fur and I would feel a lot better without it. We'll see.

Now that most of my fur is gone, I can't hide behind my curls anymore. My mom saw that my nails, especially my dew claws, needed to be clipped, and that I could afford to lose a few pounds. No more excuses about having big fur. Cry, cry.

So this afternoon we went out. Our first stop was at the drugstore. My mom had to pick up a couple perscriptons and I had to stop to see the owner-dog, Harley. Harley and I used to play with each other when I was a puppy. We don't run up and town the aisles anymore like we used to.

Harley didn't even want to play with me. My new hairstyle must have scared her off.

Ah..HA! We meet!!!

She's no fun anymore.

Time to move on. Let's go!

Ohhhh... We should have stayed where we were. Now I'm here at Pet Smart. Mom brought me here for them to do my nails and "fix" any damage she may have done when she was scissor happy yesterday.

My face says it all.

Then, after all this, she went shopping for some "health" food" WHAH!!!!! HELPME!!!!!!!

Time for Some Color

It's me, Koobuss.

By now the story of all our snow is old news. Everybody around here, and possibly where you live too, is tired of hearing about snow and tired of looking at snow. So, I am going to change the subject, but just not yet. Please bear with me for one more snow story.

The morning after our last snowstorm we had some strange tracks under the tree in our front yard.

They were rather strange "foot" prints. It looked like someone with short legs that were very close together, or someone who slides on their belly. And, we either had a lot of these things, or one very busy one who made a lot of trips going to wherever it went to under the snow. It also appears that the base of the tree was the center of attention. After looking at this from my perch on the couch near the front picture window for much of the day, my curiosity was aroused. So when I went out later that night I decided to check them out. Bigify to get a better look.

I plowed through the snow to get a better look. Guess what I found! Let me just say that I've made the area safe from moles for a while.

Now, for some other stuff. My mom thinks that most of the pictures that she's taken lately are drab and devoid of color So she made this slideshow from some of her older photos just to brighten things up a bit.

Bunny Blues

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss.

You have heard me several times already complain about a certain individual who lives on our property, (besides mom and grandpa), rent free, and torments me from time to time. This individual, who shall remain nameless, has the gall to even sleep next to the house right up against the brick, while I, at the same time am sleeping on the exact opposite side of the wall! Isn't that nervy?? (But at least I'm on the couch on the warm side of the wall while he's sleeping in the mulch and mud on the cold side of the wall. HAHA!!) Then, when I go looking for him so that I can make friends with him, he hops away so fast that I don't even see him go! All that's left is his aroma, I mean scent.

Now, if he plans on living here, I think that we should at least become acquainted. That's all I want. I just want to get to know him better. He doesn't trust me though. He thinks that I want to eat him. HAHAHA!!!! What a silly idea!!!! Every time I go out in the front yard the first thing that I do is to look for him. In fact, I spend most of my time outdoors looking for him, to no avail.

My mom thinks that I am obsessed with this bunny. (NOT!) She even told me that I have to get used to bunnies for two reasons. 1. Spring is coming (yeah, right!) and there will be lots of bunnies running around the yard just because there always are. 2. Easter is coming and bunnies bring us eggs and chocolate candy. Sounds kind of weird, don't you think? I'm suspicious. Why would they do that? What is their motive? They don't lay eggs or make chocolate. Do they? They really are nothing more than a delivery service, sort of like the Fed Ex guy, the UPS guy, and the mailman, who I love even more than I love bunnies. But I digress. Anyway, since bunnies do what they do, that is bring us eggs, chocolate candy, and other bunnies, we have to let them live and give them the space they need to do their job, according to my mom.

I don't know. I'm kinda skeptical. This is going to take a lot of thought.

Yes Snow

Just less than a week ago in my last blog entry I was whining about us not having any snow. My title was "No Snow", if you recall. Today I learned the meaning of the saying "Be careful what you wish for." That makes a lot of sense to me now. I was jealous of my Auntie Janet and other friends who live down by Washington, D. C. They had so much snow, and I didn't have any. They were having so much fun and I wasn't having any.

Today we got lots of our own snow. No matter how you look at it. From upstairs...

Now, I am having fun, too. Well... sort of.

Perhaps you remember me telling you about my problems with the bunny or bunnies who live in my yard. Well, yesterday morning when my mom put me out front, she woke this critter up.

Mr/Ms Bunny was sleeping in the corner up against my house, right under my nose! Then it got away.

For two days now, the sight of this brazen bunny has haunted me. I have been searching for it every time I go out front, to no avail. Now with all this snow, I'll never find it.

No Snow

Hi Everybody,

It's me, Koobuss. I'm back after a brief interruption in service, as they say. Well we won't go into that.

Anyway, Grandpaw and I were thinking.

Here it is, the first week in February, around the half-way point of winter (the groundhog even came and went), and we don't have any snow on the ground here in Mountain Top, PA. We are located at 41.144 degrees North latitude, 75.87 degrees W longitude, approximately 2000 feet above sea level, and we have no snow in the middle of winter. And "Auntie Janet" who lives a lot further south of me and near sea level in Manassas, VA, outside of Washington, D. C. has tons of snow! Some of that is mine. And I want it!

This afternoon my mom went out to take some pictures of our snowless February. She made a Smilebox so everybody could see what I mean. The first five photos were taken at the Ice Lakes about five miles from here, and the rest were taken at Fairview Township Memorial Park, about a mile up the road. Back in the early 1960s, when my mom was a kid, she used to hang out there with her friends. It was the local gathering place for teenagers and anybody else who wanted to have some fun on a summer evening.

You may remember that way back when I was just a pup, I developed a crush on the mailman. Over the years (a whole three of them), I have learned that mailmen come and go, but the crush remains. Maybe it's the uniform that I find so sexy. Watch and see.

3rd Anniversary Gotcha Day

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss. It is three years ago today that I moved here and got my family. Three years is a long time. In fact, it's my whole life, except for the first ten weeks at the very beginning. Not much has changed since then, except me, and the life style of those who live here. When you watch the video, you will clearly see that I am in charge.

Here are my parents, Bandit and Molly, that I left behind three years ago in New York State.

When I moved here to Pawsylvania, I didn't know what to expect.

Much to my surprise, my first day here was a very busy one.

I played.

And I met my kousin Layla, who was kinda new here herself.

That's what my first day here was like. It was full of activity. I'm glad things slowed down after that, for the most part.

While I'm telling you about my gotcha day, I thought that I'd show you around a little so you can see where I live.

Here I am with some of my toys.

And this is me with my warm red blankie. I like to doze here on cold winter mornings.

I also like to sleep on Grandpa's chair. Whenever he's not sitting in it, I grab it. You have to be on the ball around here.

Now this is my very own bed. I don't have to share it with anybody. And I like to keep it filled with lots of toys. My favorite is my green purse. I watch that very closely.

This is my downstairs recliner. It's in a nice cosy corner. I come here when I want some peace and quiet. I also sleep here some nights. It's another great spot.

So, you see, it's really pretty nice here. I like it. I think I'll stay.

It's me, Koobie. Today I got a gift from my friends Fergi and Jake. It's just what I needed!

As you can see, it's a lovely new head warmer. It's cold now and snow is coming so I'm going to need help keeping my head warm. Here's a better look.

Now when you aren't wearing your new head warmer, you can always run around the house with to cool it off since it's so hot. (Sorry, this pic is a little blurry. I was running so fast the camera couldn't focus in time.)

When you're finished running around with your head warmer, you take it to your space so you can have a rest, since running around wears you out and heats you up.

Then when you are rested and cooled down, you do what any red-blooded girl would do. You...

eat it. (Mom tried for two days to upload a video of me eating my "hat", but could not do it. Sorry. Maybe she'll get it eventually. Then you'll be able to see how cute I look.)

I had to check it out.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Hari Hopkins. I live under Koobie's deck.

When I first moved hare Koobie barked at me all the time. It was good to have somebody to talk to. RIP, Dear Sweet Snickers

It is with great sadness that we say "Good-Bye" to a member of our blogging family, dear sweet Snickers in Iowa. As we all know, Snickers has not been well for about a year, suffering from seizures and most recently cancer. On Sunday morning, November 22, 2009, Snickers, age 7, was released from her pain and suffering, crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and joined all our friends who have gone before us.

Good-Bye, dear sweet Snickers. We love you.

We send our deepest sympathies to your loving human family, Linda and Dan, and to Butchy,

Autumn Colors Ending

In my walks I've noticed that things are not as colorful as they were just a little while ago. So, I told my mom that she could post the most recent Smilebox she made of the autumn colors here around our house. You may have already seen some of these photos. Just be patient with her. She's old. Hehehe

Good Riddance

Hi Friends,

It's me, Koobuss.

There has been a lot going on here lately. I already told you about the bunny moving in under my deck.

Well, I also have some good news to report.

These guys had a meeting last night, and they have decided to move out. Finally! I thought they'd never leave, especially that guy in the middle who keeps asking for candy. I mean, enough already. I keep asking for candy, too, but I don't get it whenever I want it. Why should he? Anyway, here they are waiting for transportation to their off-season residence. Good riddance, and don't come back soon!

One more thing. I want to congratulate Gussie on that bootiful trench he dug. He worked so hard on it. Unfortunately, I can't show you videos or pictures of me digging a trench since I haven't dug a trench yet. But I can show you a photo of my nose art on the sliding glass door. Keep in mind that this is a work in progress. It is far from finished. And unless my mom gets around to washing the windows anytime soon, it may turn into a real masterpiece! Hehehe...
